Dangerous Margarine – What Doctors Don’t Tell You
I got this following email forward telling about how margarine was first made and some more very disturbing facts including that margarine is only one molecule away from being plastic. You can test this claim of it being plastic by following the simple test mentioned in this email.

We can only hope authorities look into this and take proper steps for the benefit of the people. Forward this email Convey this message to your friends and family. Atleast same them from the harmful aspects and side effects….

Butter or Margarine. . . . .?

Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back. It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow coloring and sold it to people to use in place of butter. How do you like it? They have come out with some clever new flavoring’s.

DO YOU KNOW.. the difference between margarine and butter? >Read on to the end…gets very interesting!

Both have the same amount of calories.

Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams.

Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.

Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.
Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few only because they are added!

Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavors of other foods.

Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years.

And now, for Margarine..

Very high in trains fatty acids.
Triple risk of coronary heart disease .
Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)
Increases the risk of cancers up to five fold.

Lowers quality of breast milk.

Decreases immune response.

Decreases insulin response.

And here’s the most disturbing fact…. HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING!

Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC..

This fact alone was enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance).

You can try this test yourself:

Purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will note a couple of things:

1) No flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something)

2) it does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value ; nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weeny micro organisms will not a find a home to grow. Why? Because it is nearly plastic.

Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?

Share This With Your Friends…..(If you want to ‘butter them up’)!

However back to the subject, in rich countries food prices are not an issue so normal people can buy butter if margarine is harmful. But in poor countries butter is normally much expensive than margarine and normal people who are mostly people who live a hand to mouth existence in countries like India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka use only margarine. For them butter is a luxury with many never having tasted butter! I remember another email forward like this about dangerous paracetamol tablet side effects. We shouldn’t forget that this can be dirty marketing ploy by butter manufactures to discredit margarine competition and increase butter sales for their company. Such dirty games have happened before. However if what this email says about margarine is true then what is situation of millions and millions for people in India and other countries? What steps will the World Heath Organisation or WHO and other global food consumer and food safety organizations take? Are they even aware of this or is this brushed under the carpet for dollars from multi-national food companies? Whatever the reason it is their responsibility to check and nullify the fears of the consumers or to ban margarine.

Well, using that logic, we shouldn’t consume water because it’s one atom away from being hydrogen peroxide (H202). We also shouldn’t consume ANY salt, because it’s composed of one atom of sodium and one atom of CHLORINE (NaCl).

  • Yuck, who wants to eat plastic! But, not to worry margarine is not plastic. “Margarine is one molecule away from plastic” actually comes from an “urban legend” that has been circulating on the Internet since 2003.

Let’s get technical for a moment. Plastic is a polymer, whose ingredients may include polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, acrylic, silicone, and urethane. Margarine is an emulsion of naturally processed vegetable oil, water, salt, vitamins, and other functional ingredients that ensure the safety and quality of the finished product. Emulsions consist of two or more ingredients that naturally do not remain blended or “in suspension”; and need added ingredients to keep them together; think of it like oil and water. Other types of emulsified foods that you may eat include deli meats and salad dressings.

Living a healthy lifestyle includes eating moderate amounts of the right foods. For example, substituting soft margarine for butter. Margarine has 3 times less saturated fat than butter, not to mention beneficial polyunsaturated fats and Vitamin E. Yes, trans fat in margarine was once an issue but margarine producers have reduced trans fat levels to a miniscule amount comparable to that found in butter. I’ve been working with the National Association of Margarine Manufacturers so I’ve learned a lot about this particular topic. In addition, heart disease runs in my family so I have a personal interest in the subject as well. Check out the links below for more information:

  • to” emma:” your facts are only partly correct. you are working for the enemy and you think we are going to believe you?government workers are part of the problem. it’s you duty to ensure that they hold power over us even when it means outright lying, including “urban legends” well here is the real legeng the government of the U.S. a capitalist economy put the profit motive above human protection. Create ghee out of butter-clarified butter and stop using chemically altered foods-now gmo more than ever that cause disease and our digestive systems cannot process. don’t use your famioly as a measure of your truthfulness because ignorant family members brings sweets to their cancer relatives when tumors grow with sugar. you didn’t fool me dear.

assuming you are who you say you are you could be a dude in marketing this is cyberspace and egos abound.

to “emma” These people are really pulling the crap over your eyes. For a long time I heard about how margarine is better than butter because of the higher fat content that butter contains. Then doctors and scientist realized how horrible hydrogenated oils are for human consumption. It is actually a huge artery clogging substance. This is what makes margarine a killer. The process of hydrogenated oils in foods is what makes so many junk foods cheap. Check your labels and do not eat anything with hydrogenated oils. Anything sold with hydrogenated oils should have a warning on the product like cigarettes do. Margarine = death
